Facility Fees
Booking-in Process
Booking-in must be done by week 32 of pregnancy. Bookings are done at our reception, where you will be required to pay a booking in fee and complete the necessary forms and medical history.
- Medical aid clients will have to pay a booking in fee of R2 200 by week 32 of pregnancy and supply us with an authorisation number from their medical aid by week 36 of pregnancy.
- Mothers with no medical coverage will be required to pay a booking in fee of R2 200 by 32 weeks of pregnancy and a deposit of R45 000 by their week 36 of pregnancy. Following a normal delivery, the balance will be refunded within two weeks of discharge.
Arrangements must be made to have baby on a medical aid immediately following birth.

**Please take note that all private patients are required to pay an amount of R 45 000 as a deposit for their births by their 36th week of pregnancy. Following a normal delivery (NVD – Natural Vaginal Delivery) – the balance will be refunded within two weeks of discharge. In the case of an emergency caesarean section, the anaesthetist (approximately R8 000) and paediatrician (approximately R4 400) will be paid from your deposit. Your gynaecologist will bill you directly.
- Post NVD (Natural Vaginal Delivery) Paediatric Check: It is customary for each newborn to be checked by a paediatrician before going home. One of the paediatricians working with Genesis Clinic will be on site each day to examine all of our new arrivals. Please note that this visit is for your own cost if baby is not covered by a medical aid. A fee of R 2800.00 will be added to your account if you see the paediatrician.
- All private patients are charged using fixed fees. These assume that there are no complications and that length of stay is not exceeded. In the event of complications, fees will be billed accordingly.
THE FEES ABOVE EXCLUDE:
- Medications: (Ethicals) used during your labour and birth.
- Take Home Medication: (TTO) and any extra ethical items used.
Fees charged by another service provider (eg gynaecologist, independent midwife, paediatrician etc.)

Mom will receive a beautiful care package on admission containing the following items:

- 1 packet of nappies (Huggies)
- Vaseline
- Wet wipes

Medical aid clients will be charged according to the National Health Care Network scale of benefits, as negotiated with your medical aid.
It is essential for you to directly communicate with your medical aid provider to obtain full details on the billing and fees charged by:
- Independent Midwife Services
- Gynaecologist
- Paediatrician
- Anaesthetist
- Any other external service providers involved in your care.
