Independent Midwife
My Story
Speciality: VBAC Births, Birth Coaching and Breast-feeding Support.
I started my journey over two decades ago as a nursing student, but even then, I was more fascinated by everything pregnancy-related than general nursing.
I’ve had the privilege of working in various healthcare settings – public, private, and even outside the Republic of South Africa. This experience has given me a deep understanding of diverse birthing environments, from low-risk to high-risk units.
Beyond my general nursing and midwifery qualifications, I’m also a qualified nurse educator and nurse manager, which shows my dedication to lifelong learning and leadership. I’m constantly empowering myself with new knowledge in my field; in fact, another qualification is loading soon!
I truly believe that pregnancy is a natural, physiological process. I see it as a transformative journey for the mother, not a state of altered health, unless medically diagnosed. For me, the journey of EACH pregnancy, labour, and birth of EACH baby is a UNIQUE experience, and nothing short of the MIRACLE that it is.
For me, my work is more than just a profession; it is my ministry. It’s a testament to the goodness I see in the world. While I may not preach in a traditional sense, I hope that by helping to bring new life into the world, people can witness and feel a sense of grace. My work is how I express my appreciation for the gift of life we are given. I see myself as simply a vessel, doing what I feel I am meant to do; ultimately, it’s all about something greater than myself.
I approach each birth with deep reverence, recognising the profound impact it has not only on the precious new baby but also on the mother, the father, and the entire family. It truly feels like a miracle, something divinely created from beginning to end.
I am not just a midwife; I strive to be a compassionate guide, an educator, and a strong advocate for the wonder of bringing new life into the world and for ensuring well-informed birth choices through genuine consent.
Empowering women to make the right choices for their pregnancies, their labour, their births, and their babies, and supporting them throughout their unique journeys, is what allows me to sleep peacefully when the opportunity arises! My work is intrinsically linked to my own mental well-being.
I would be deeply honoured to be a part of your pregnancy, labour, birth, and your transition into parenthood.

My go-to tip for expectant moms:
Trust the process, let go of control and move that pelvis, it's meant to be mobile.

A signature smile even in the early hours of the morning.

How I recharge:
A HUGE CUP OF GOOD Coffee, A conversation with God every day and catching up with people that I love.
